Bribie Island Sunset Illustration
This digital illustration is based of a photo I took of the gorgeous Bribie Island sunset. In the background you can see the distinctive glasshouse mountains. Below is the reference photo and style guide for the illustration. This illustration is largely inspired by illustrator Aliki Karkoulia’s use a of analogous colour pallet and simplified forms.
This digital illustration was created using vectors in illustrator traced over the reference photo. I wanted the soft gradients in the piece to create contrast to the stark dark silhouettes seen in the foreground and background. I chose the ratio of the illustration to fit a postcard as the distinctive glasshouse mountains lend itself to that format.
